14.9.2005 Kaizers Orchestra (Kato, Berlin)

Wednesday, September 14th, 2005

The second show in Germany, not very far away, in Berlin. Only about two and a half hours in the car, so I had time to write my Hamburg tour report before leaving from the rest stop, then I was on my way to Berlin (no speed control this time, I think *g*), and even though I didn’t really go the way I had planned, I didn’t have any trouble finding the club. I almost ran over the sound guy when going past, but then I decided not to, wanted to see the concert… *g* And then there even was a parking space close by, I could meet a dear friend, find an internet café to put my report online, something to eat and then it was already 8 pm and time for the show!

13.9.2005 Kaizers Orchestra (Knust, Hamburg)

Tuesday, September 13th, 2005

Wait a moment. What the hell was that? I mean, I come to Hamburg (getting into speed control right at the beginning, of course, what else), expecting a nice concert but nothing more – and what do I get? This was amazing, can’t believe it!

After nice conversations with the Japanese family that was staying in the same hostel room as I was (I SHOULD start to affort hotels, I think *lol*) I was on the way to the train station, meeting up with the Crazy Norwegians *g* there. Some of them, at least. =;-)

1.9.2005 Kaizers Orchestra (Teatergarasjen, Bergen)

Thursday, September 1st, 2005

The next morning started much too early, like at… 11, I think. *g* On the boat to Bergen I got the chance to practice my Norwegian a little (ok, also during the Vorspiel in Stavanger, actually), and I really understand a lot more than last time, yeah! We arrived in Bergen at exactly the time when Kaizers did a signing at Platekompaniet, and as that is right next to the harbor, we had to drop by, of course. Wasn’t very interesting though, but at least I got my Kaizers flag signed. *g* Then I had to repack my stuff, buy some things, get something to eat – then Vorspiel at a hostel, and then we were on our way to Teatergarasjen through heavy rain. We went early enough though, ’cause when we arrived, it _really_ started raining, big thunderstorm, and it never really stopped until long after the show. Well, Bergen weather, what would you expect.

OK, I’ll try to keep my reports short, ’cause otherwise they won’t be online before I’m off to Hamburg to see the German shows… =;-)

5.8.2005 Kaizers Orchestra (Haldern Pop, Haldern)

Friday, August 5th, 2005

Everybody says that Haldern is the nicest and most familial festival in Germany. I must admit that until now, the lineup never really convinced me, but this was different this year of course. And after my very bad experience with this year’s Southside festival I really couldn’t wait for Haldern – great bands, muuuuuuch smaller and in the middle of summer, so not as freezing cold as Southside. Ha ha ha… great bands and much smaller, yes, that was true, and I guess it also was one or two degrees warmer. But to make up for that, it was raining almost constantly – and I’ve never seen so much mud in one place (and yes, I’ve been to St. Gallen and yes, I was at Taubertal Festival in 2004 *g*). Which, by the way, is the reason there are no concert pictures this time – it did actually stop raining during the Kaizers show, but for one it was impossible to predict that and also, my camera would have ended up in the mud at some point in time anyway. =;-)
