The nicest country to go with a car is definitely Switzerland. OK, you don’t get anywhere because of the speed limits, but everything is close by anyway, and contrary to certain other countries there’s lots of signs! =;-)

Friday, March 17th, 2006My 46th Kaizers concert – and Shirin’s 50th. No doubt that something special would happen that night… =;-)

16.3.2006 Kaizers Orchestra (Batschkapp, Frankfurt )
Thursday, March 16th, 2006OK, I’ll really cut it a little shorter today, I’m not in the mood for writing today… =;-) Which doesn’t mean the concert was bad – it definitely was not! It’s about the same range as the concert in Brussels yesterday, which means not quite as good as Cologne, but not too far from it either. From a musical point of view, it wasn’t that good yesterday – there were several wrong tones and weird sounds, but that’s just the way it is with live concerts – and the atmosphere on stage was really good, and that’s something that is always contagious.

15.3.2006 Kaizers Orchestra (AB Club, Brüssel )
Wednesday, March 15th, 2006You shouldn’t try to drive in Brussels – or if you do, you should remember beforehand that there’s no such thing as “signs” in Belgium… Otherwise, you will end up somewhere in Brussels, without the slightest clue of where you are and where you want to go… well, at least the sun was up. =;-) And as I ended up on a parking spot about 10 meters from the entrance of the club, I’m not gonna complain. *g*

14.3.2006 Kaizers Orchestra (Stollwerck, Köln )
Tuesday, March 14th, 2006The next concert, this time in Cologne. And the Cologne concerts have always been special – just like this time! The concert was amazing, the place was sold out, the audience wanted to have a lot of fun, the band had a lot of fun playing and the frontman had problems with his voice… But this didn’t matter much. Okay, sometimes he was croaking more than singing, but so what – if I want to hear it sung perfectly, I just listen to the record, I don’t need a concert for that! And I go to a concert if I want to see a few hundred people screaming, clapping, dancing, jumping and having a lot of fun – just like yesterday in Cologne.

Monday, March 13th, 2006Next day, next concert… my second concert of the tour, and if they keep on getting better like this every day, I’m really looking forward to Munich. I mean, I’m looking forward to Munich anyway… but you know what I mean. =;-)

12.3.2006 Kaizers Orchestra (Effenaar, Eindhoven )
Sunday, March 12th, 2006Finally another tour! And this time I decided to skip some of the concerts in Germany, they are just too far to drive. And Holland surprises me every time I go there, it’s just so close? =;-) Weird. Well, so the first concert of the tour was in Eindhoven. On the way there I got to visit Uden, picking up Linda there, and then we were on our way to Eindhoven. And looking for the Effenaar… according to their website, “you see it as soon as you are at the station”. Sure… especially if you come from the wrong side! =;-) But even if you’re on the right side, a little sign would be really really helpful…. But well, we found it in time, so no complaints.

7.3.2006 Kaizers Orchestra (Kampen Bistro, Oslo)
Tuesday, March 7th, 2006Not to make anyone jealous, but living in Oslo has its advantages. For example when people tell you about unannounced concerts where you should just drop by. Well, why not, I thought, found myself a Canadian concert partner for the evening and went to what I thought would be a short Skambankt concert on somebody’s birthday.

4.3.2006 Skambankt (John Dee, Oslo )
Saturday, March 4th, 2006There seems to be some kind of curse on Skambankt concerts. At least if I want to go there… last year, the concert was moved to another date on very short notice. This year, the day before the concert, Germany drowned in snow… which wouldn’t have been a problem, if it hadn’t been a Friday with the streets crammed with stupid Dutchmen (sorry Dissident *g*) with summer tires. Argh. So it took me about eight hours to get to the airport, instead of two and a half as normal… But well, luckily I’m paranoid enough to not leave just in time for the plane, so I didn’t miss my plane but just several hours of sleep. And as we all know, sleeping is for dead people anyway… =;-)

29.1.2006 Cloroform (Nachtleben, Frankfurt )
Sunday, January 29th, 2006loroform are on tour in Germany. Or maybe I should rather call it a tour in “southern Sweden”? Hey, there’s more of Germany south of Frankfurt! *grr* But I shouldn’t complain, it could have been worse, and I’m just trying to convince myself that Frankfurt is almost on the way from my parents’ place to where I live in the south, so well. Okay, my car claims to have done a lot of kilometers this weekend, but this MUST be wrong. *gg*
